A Visit With Grandpa

Earlier this week, my dad, Fred, came all by himself to spend the day with me and Lyla. While this may not seem like such a big deal, my dad is not a huge fan of the city so I was even more excited that he was making the trip. And he even took the subway and found his way to Penn Station! He also brought Lyla roses. We gave Lyla a bath, took some video of her, had lunch and watched The View together. :) My dad is not one to sit still for long, so he came equipped with a project. Before Lyla was born, he installed a beautiful chandelier in her nursery. It was really bright and blinding her during diaper changes so he installed a dimmer while he was here. While he was at it, he fixed a short on the circuit so the lights wouldn't flicker. Thanks, Dad! With the dimmer installed, the nursery is really coming along. We bought a Degas print of a ballerina for above the changing table but Lyla is already able to pull it so we have to move it before it falls on her. And we are going to hang her initials over her crib. We got beautiful letters from Restoration Hardware Baby (love that site!!) as a gift from Sheila and Bob Spector. Hopefully the nursery will be done by the time Lyla is willing to sleep in her crib!
