Rochester Trip
A few weeks ago, we spent the weekend at JoAnne and Roger's lake house in Rochester to celebrate Michael's graduation from high school and Kristen's graduation from her graduate program in acupuncture. We always have an amazing time with the Carrolls. We can talk and laugh until all hours of the night -- and we definitely did that weekend.
My water baby naturally loved running up and down the dock on the lake even though she nearly gave me a heart attack every time she ran to the water's edge. She insisted upon going in the freezing water and would protest when we took her out (even though her purple lips told another story).
We too enjoyed time on the lake -- hanging out by the dock, swimming, going for boat rides and going tubing.
We had some awesome tubing wipeouts.
We celebrated the family's accomplishments and exciting news (a baby on the way!!! JoAnne in purple!!!)
It was great to see that Lyla was immediately comfortable with everyone. She loved being in the mix and wanted to play with everyone.
But, if you ask Lyla what she liked best about the weekend, it would definitely be the dogs -- Blue, Roxy and Momma (aka "mommy doggy"). She is still talking about those dogs. She will tell you about Austin throwing a stick into the lake and the dogs fetching it. She continues to tell me the story of Blue eating her bagel, to which she replied "that's not so nice." And she will tell you how sad she was to wake up and find out that mommy doggy went bye bye (Katie took him home after Lyla went to sleep). We got a sweet thank you note from Kristen just the other day and I told Lyla it was from Kristen, Austin, Blue and Roxy. She has been hugging the card ever since and telling me that Blue wrote her to say "night night."
Thank you to the Carrolls for having us at the lake. The house is amazing, thanks to Roger and all of his hard work. We can't wait to visit again!
