Apple Picking
Every city girl needs a dose of the country sometimes. We headed upstate with friends to go apple picking and to get our fix of fresh air and wide open spaces. Based on several recommendations, we chose Lawrence Farm Orchards in Newburgh, which is about 1 1/2 hours from our apartment. Besides apples, they had pumpkins, seasonal veggies and a kids' play area.
Jen and Jeremy rented a huge minivan and all seven of us piled in for the trip. First stop was the kids' village, of course, where Lyla and Collin rode the. slowest. train. ever. Seriously, the slooooowest. Despite Collin's stoic expression, both kiddos loved it.
Lyla and her crazy Uncle Jeremy. She is thinking "what is wrong with this guy? Is he seriously the Chief Strategy Officer at SecondMarket?
More from the village
I honestly don't even know what kind of apples we picked, but we had a great time. Mark was the official picker because the apples were too high for the rest of us. Collin ate way too many apples; Lyla refused to eat a single one.
Official dog of the farm :)

Plus one:
I'm dying to know what this conversation was about.
An entire pumpkin patch, and these two decided to fight over a single pumpkin.
They abide by these toddler rules:
1. If I like it, it's mine.
2. If it's in my hand, it's mine.
3. If I can take it from you, it's mine.
4. If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
5. If it's mine, it must NEVER appear to be yours in anyway.
6. If I'm doing or building something, all the pieces are mine.
7. If it looks just like mine, it is mine.
8. If I saw it first, it's mine.
9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically
becomes mine.
10. If it's broken, it's yours.
