Instagram is an addiction. It is so much easier to snap some cute pics on my phone rather than lug around my big dslr. The result is that I have virtually no "good" photos for the month of March. But I do have a ton of funky instagram prints. So here is my insta-update, with a promise that I will take some nice pictures in April.
We celebrated my 34th birthday. It was a quiet dinner with my family over the weekend.
And then for my actual birthday night, Mark and I went to our favorite little Greek restaurant, Uncle Nick's, and to see the Book of Mormon (amazing!...unless you are a Mormon...then it is probably quite insulting)
Lyla insisted on taking her scooter out to lunch one day. We got half a block before she was exhausted.
She loves her hand-me-down Diego roller skates. And she only took one tumble, which I thought was pretty good for her first time.
Lyla got a ton of cute arts and crafts projects for her birthday (it's the gift for city kids, whose parents appreciate gifts that don't take up a lot of room). Ever since then, she has really been into coloring and crafting. Most mornings she wants to sit at her little table (her office) and do a project. As a result, I have a ton of pictures of her coloring in her pajamas with crazy bed head.
We give each other manicures and pedicures. They always start out somewhat promising...
...but never end well.
We've been eating a lot of ice cream. Don't judge us, but this one was taken at Burger King in our pajamas at 7pm on a Tuesday night.
Lyla got a new clock. She went through this phase where she was sleeping terribly, so, at the suggestion of a friend, we got her an "OK to Wake" clock. At 7am it turns green and she knows she can't call for us before it turns green. By night two, we were back to 11 hours of sleep. Amaaazing.
Lyla is warming to the idea of Baby Jack. She got a kick out of looking at the sonogram pictures and now she loves to rest her hand on my belly when he kicks. She was even lying on top of me the other night and felt him kick from my belly to her belly. Last night, she asked me "What's taking Baby Jack so long to come out?" You're telling me, kiddo...12 weeks to go.
Lyla has developed an obsession with Jane's Carousel in DUMBO. We've been twice in the last few weeks. She talks to the horses like she is a horse whisperer.
The rest of March to follow...
