Fireworks!!

The Long Beach fireworks took place on Friday night. My mom, Rich, Dina and the kids, and Evelyn and Sharon came over to watch from our terrace. We had a great view and it beat setting up on the beach on a pretty chilly night. We had some snacks and wine and sat back to enjoy the show. Nic loved the fireworks at first and thought they were "shiny." As the show went on, he got a little nervous, especially the red fireworks. Mark unfortunately had to work late and got home just after the fireworks ended. When he got home, Nicolas told him he was " 'fraid of the fireworks." My mom is not a drinker -- I think I can count on one hand the times I have seen her drink. But Evelyn found a bottle of wine my mom loves and the two of them polished it off. In fact, as my mom was leaving, we saw her fill up her glass and take a "roadie" to go. Lyla was up way past her bedtime with all the excitement, but had fun hanging out with Nicolas. Christopher was a little doll and slept through the entire show. Nicolas eventually passed out, Lyla got cranky and the party came to an end.
