Peter's Clam Bar

On Sunday night, we headed to Peter's Clam bar to celebrate my parents' wedding anniversary. Peter's Clam Bar is an institution where I grew up. It has been there since the '30s and my dad actually worked there as a bus boy in high school. Peter's only used to open in the summer so when it opened for the season, it was a sign that summer had arrived. Now it is open all year round but we only go in the summer. Peter's is one of Mark's favorite places around Long Beach. He loves the raw bar, but also loves the really casual nature of the place. It's all window service -- there are no waiters or waitresses to take your order. Most of the food is served on paper plates and you bus your own table. Both babies were on their best behavior. I think this may have been Chris' first night out! Nicolas got really excited when Rich took him inside to see the lobster tank. He came out frantically trying to explain that the lobster moved. "Papa, Papa, it MOVED." No one's sure what he is trying to demonstrate with his two index fingers. He is the funniest, cutest little boy. Lyla wasn't nearly as excited about it as Nicolas. Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!
