Birthday Weekend

We are into celebrating birthdays for a whole week around here...or at least a weekend. So my birthday celebration started on Friday. Lyla and I spent the morning in the park waiting for my mom to come in. Lyla now calls every park "play park" and begs to go whenever we are out.

She came in around noon and we had a ladies lunch with Lyla and Aunt Phyllis. I spent the rest of the afternoon getting a crash course on this year's American Idol from my mom and Aunt Phyllis. Apparantly, I've really been missing out... Mark came home early from work armed with two bottles of champagne for my favorite new drink, champagne cocktails.

Cheers!

Lyla helped me blow out a birthday candle.

And then she made us relight the candle to do it again.

On Saturday, we spent hours walking around the city before ending up at 'Inoteca in the Lower East Side.

It was a little loud and we may have had too many bellinis. Our cue to leave was when Lyla knocked my wine glass on the floor precisely just as a song was ending. There was complete silence in the restaurant as everyone looked our way.

We were spent from walking so much so we nixed our dinner plans and hung out at home on Saturday night. We had a special dual birthday celebration on Sunday...more on that later.
